Democrat leader Joe Biden has defeated incumbent Republican US President Donald Trump in the closely-fought presidential election, as per major American media projections. The 77-year-old former US vice president will become the 46th president of the United States, according to CNN.  Biden’s win was declared after a victory in Pennsylvania. Biden was born in Pennsylvania, which put him over the 270 electoral votes needed to win.

After winning Pennsylvania’s 20 electoral votes, Biden now has a total of 273 electoral votes. Before becoming the Democratic presidential nominee in the US elections 2020,  Biden had served as the vice president under former President Barack Obama. He is also Delaware’s longest-serving senator. Biden, the 77-year-old former US vice president, will become the 46th president of the United States, according to CNN. His win has been confirmed after victory in Pennsylvania. With Pennsylvania’s 20 electoral votes, Joe Biden now has a total of 273 electoral votes.
